The Phi Delta Phi pre-law hall at the University of South Carolina is the University’s most prestigious pre-law fraternity and honor society. Founded in 1869, Phi Delta Phi is a fraternity marked by years of excellence.
About our fraternity
The University of South Carolina pre-law hall is a nationally chartered chapter of Phi Delta Phi. The high standards we expect for our members don’t end at initiation. Continued and consistent growth is vital to the health of our organization and the individuals who create it.
We emphasize developing our members personally, academically, and professionally. Phi Delta Phi members spanning generations from across the country have graduated to become successful attorneys, judges, and United States Senators and Presidents.
We focus on three pillars of Brotherhood, Professional Development, and Legal Advocacy, for our member development.

Our Pillars in Action
Brotherhood
Brotherhood is the very foundation upon which our fraternity is built. The relationships we build today with one another will serve us personally and professionally for years to come.
From away weekends to pickle-ball tournaments and cookouts, Phi Delta Phi takes pride in providing its members with an atmosphere of engagement and community.
Professional Development
Our members carry the skills we foster with our Professional Development pillar into their real lives and careers, instilling in them the confidence to be the best version of themselves.
Recent professional development opportunities, like our Legal Professional Dinner pictured above, give members the opportunity to learn career insights and meet captivating individuals.
Legal Advocacy
Advocacy is the cornerstone of what makes a great lawyer. We work to develop the argumentative and critical thinking skills necessary for our members to thrive in the legal field.
Through participating in mock trials and hosting speakers, such as former US Attorney for the district of South Carolina, Adair Boroughs, brothers have the opportunity to hone in their legal skills and learn what it takes to be successful in the field of law.
